Free WordPress plugin checker, no signup. Enter a website address to list the WordPress plugins that load on that page, each with its name and its WordPress.org link. It shows the plugins a visitor’s browser can see. Background plugins stay hidden, and this page says which.
What the Plugin Check Shows
- Every plugin that loads a file on the page, up to 40.
- The plugin’s name and WordPress.org page, when it is in the free directory.
- A “not on WordPress.org” note for premium or custom plugins.
- The active theme, below the plugin list.
How It Finds Plugins
A plugin that adds something visible loads a stylesheet or a script from /wp-content/plugins/ followed by its folder name. The checker collects those folder names from the page. It then asks the WordPress.org directory for each plugin’s real name.
What It Cannot See
No outside tool can list every plugin on a WordPress site. Only the site’s admin screen can. These stay invisible from outside:
- Plugins that work in the background: backups, security, redirects, most SEO settings.
- Plugins that load on other pages only. A checkout plugin may load on the cart page and nowhere else. Check that page too.
- Plugins whose files are merged. A caching or optimization plugin can combine all scripts into one file and remove the folder names.
- Must-use plugins and code in the theme.
So read the result as “at least these plugins”, never as the full list.
Get More From One Check
- Check the homepage first.
- Then check a page that does something: a contact page, a product page, a booking page.
- Compare the two lists. Form, store and booking plugins often load only where they are used.
Find Plugins by Hand
- Open the page and view the source (Ctrl+U, or Cmd+Option+U on a Mac).
- Search for
wp-content/plugins/. - The word after each match is a plugin folder. Search that name on WordPress.org.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I see what plugins a WordPress site is using?
Enter the site’s address in the checker above. It lists every plugin that loads a file on that page, with its name and WordPress.org link. Check a second page, such as a contact or product page, to find plugins that load only there.
Can I see every plugin a website has installed?
No. Only plugins that load files in a visitor’s browser can be seen from outside. Backup, security and most SEO plugins work in the background and leave no trace on the page.
Why does the checker find no plugins on a WordPress site?
Either no plugin loads files on that page, or the site merges its scripts and styles into combined files, which removes the plugin folder names. Try another page of the same site.
What does not on WordPress.org mean?
The plugin is not in the free WordPress.org directory. It is a premium plugin sold elsewhere, or one built for that site. The checker then shows the folder name in readable form.
Does the plugin check log in to the site or scan it for weaknesses?
No. It requests one page, the way a browser does, and reads the plugin folder names in it. It does not log in, look for hidden files or test for weaknesses.
